These luxury restaurants were designed by Gensler which is widely recognized as the world’s leading collaborative design firm, not just the largest. Osso & Kristalla is a luxury restaurant from Houston Astros-Owner Jim Crane. Osso is located in downtown Houston across the street from Minute Maid Park and next door to the more upscale, Potente.
With these sophisticated, new sister restaurants, the client plans to revitalize the ballpark district in downtown Houston and provide essential dining and entertainment space for visitors and residents. Potente is the mature, sophisticated, and upscale sister, while Osso & Kristalla is the young, playful, and more casual sister.
Osso & Kristalla’s light, airy space alludes to an Italian restaurant, with two-story volume ceilings, large open windows, and patrons pouring out onto an outdoor courtyard. The restaurant’s design is communicated through playful elements, butcher-block tabletops, and an open concept kitchen which brings diners closer to the action to engage them with the food and the environment.
The upscale counterpart, Potente, is designed with juxtaposed black and white marble evoking a high-fashion cosmopolitan city like Milan. The luxurious design employs a dark palette to give diners a sense of privacy and exclusivity.
Osso & Kristalla is open for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour and focuses on using only fresh and local ingredients. The kitchen is overseen by Executive Chef Danny Trace. Lunch offers salads, wood-fired pizzas and pasta, and brunch boasts homemade pastries, Katz Coffee and healthy omelets.
At dinner, Osso & Kristalla transforms to a modern, yet relaxed lounge atmosphere with a full bar and extensive wine selection. Cocktails are served alongside shared plates and fresh seafood selections.
